ANY SPEED ISSUES ARE NOT RELATED TO USENET SERVERS:

This is to inform you of our observations regarding internet traffic during the World Cup matches. Internet traffic around the world is increasing in bursts, and most of these bursts have been correlated to be in line with the times of the matches. Every ISP around the world is dealing with these traffic bursts. We are handling the traffic fine on our end, but some ISPs downstream from us are having trouble during these bursts. We see the traffic issues go away after a couple of hours, again correlating with the end of a World Cup match.

Members who are using the ISPs that have trouble handling the traffic bursts may experience slowness and buffering. We are being diligent about calling out hot spots to ISPs when we see them, but that is a challenge in and of itself. If you experience any issues after a World Cup match has completed, please open a support ticket and we will investigate the specific issue.

Again, we are handling this load on our end very well, but we wanted to make you aware of these issues as they are impacting ISPs across the world.
